Restaking API for Native EigenLayer
Non-custodial EigenPod
P2P.org's Restaking API gives exchanges, custodians, and asset managers native EigenLayer restaking through an automated, API-driven flow. It covers EigenPod address creation, validator setup on P2P.org infrastructure, deposit transaction preparation, withdrawal credential verification, and delegation to a chosen node operator for Actively Validated Services (AVS). Non-custodial throughout: only unsigned transactions are generated.
Restaking API Specs
Restaking adds EigenLayer protocol conditions on top of Ethereum consensus. Operator selection, slashing terms, and withdrawal timing are set by EigenLayer, not by P2P.org.

Withdrawal Options
Two Withdrawal Paths for EigenLayer Restaking
Both withdrawal paths begin with a checkpoint proof, which compares EigenPod and Beacon chain balances. After completing the checkpoint, choose whether to withdraw protocol-issued rewards only or exit the validator entirely.
Partial Withdrawal
Withdraw protocol-issued rewards accumulated above 32 ETH without exiting the validator. Two steps, with rewards withdrawn to the eigenPodOwnerAddress once the checkpoint completes. No escrow period applies.
Steps:
- 1. Start checkpoint proof
- 2. Verify checkpoint proofs
- Note: one active checkpoint per EigenPod at a time. Checkpoints cannot be cancelled once started. Starting a checkpoint more frequently than every eight days provides no benefit.
Full Withdrawal
Exit the validator entirely and withdraw all staked ETH and protocol-issued rewards. Five steps, ending with an EigenLayer escrow period of up to seven days on mainnet before queued withdrawals complete.
Steps:
- 1. Start checkpoint proof and verify
- 2. Undelegate restake from operator
- 3. Queue withdrawals
- 4. Initiate validator exit
- 5. Complete queued withdrawals after the escrow period
How the Restaking API Works
The full restaking lifecycle consists of six steps: EigenPod creation, staking request, status check, deposit transaction, withdrawal credential verification, and AVS delegation. All steps are covered by the API. The overview below describes the flow at a high level. Full step-by-step documentation is available in Docs.
Create EigenPod and register
Generate an EigenPod address via the API and use it as the withdrawal address for the restaking validators. Set up validator nodes through P2P.org's infrastructure using the RESTAKING request type. The API returns deposit data when setup completes.
Deposit and verify credentials
Prepare and broadcast the deposit transaction via P2P.org's proxy contract or the Ethereum deposit contract. Once validators are active, verify withdrawal credentials on-chain to link them to the EigenPod, within 8,192 slots or roughly 27 hours of generation.
Delegate to EigenLayer operator
Retrieve the list of available EigenLayer node operators and prepare a delegation transaction to assign the restaking allocation. P2P.org is available as a node operator. Broadcast the signed transaction to complete the restaking flow.

Frequently Asked Questions
Help centerAn API for native EigenLayer restaking. It covers the full six-step lifecycle: EigenPod address creation, staking request, status check, deposit transaction, withdrawal credential verification, and AVS delegation. Non-custodial throughout.
An EigenPod is the contract address that acts as the withdrawal address for restaking validators. Verifying withdrawal credentials on-chain links the active validators to the EigenPod, which is what makes the stake eligible for EigenLayer restaking.
The deposit transaction can be broadcast via P2P.org's proxy smart contract or directly through the Ethereum deposit contract.
Partial withdrawal takes protocol-issued rewards accumulated above 32 ETH without exiting the validator: two steps, no escrow period. Full withdrawal exits the validator entirely and returns all staked ETH and rewards: five steps, ending with an EigenLayer escrow period of up to seven days on mainnet.
Yes. Only unsigned transactions are generated, and client assets remain under client control at all times.
Withdrawal credentials must be verified within 8,192 slots of generation, or roughly 27 hours.
Yes. A testing environment is available at api-test.p2p.org on the Hoodi testnet.
